Blues fans and players from around the state have organized The Connecticut Blues Society.
The Connecticut Blues Society is a non-profit organization formed to support the
community of blues fans and blues musicians in Connecticut. Many are, frankly,
surprised that there is a blues community in Connecticut. In Chicago, or
Memphis, or Detroit, or St. Louis, even Boston, blues enthusiasts know where to
go to participate in their music. Blues in Connecticut is less localized. On any
Saturday night blues clubs around the state feature national, and as important,
talented local blues bands who keep the blues alive.
Through the Connecticut Blues Society we seek to create a greater awareness of the Blues. There are people in Connecticut who love and care about the Blues -- we just have to find them and bring them together. The Connecticut Blues Society promotes a sense of community through its newsletters, special events, and by serving as a forum where blues fans and blues musicians can find each other.
We need your help. The Blues Society needs members who will support the organization both financially and spiritually. A years membership in the society is only $15.00. This money will help organize the society, and help offset costs of our newsletter and other Blues Society sponsored events.
Musicians, we not only want you to join, we need you to participate as players. A show that features multiple groups increases the draw, and of course, it exposes your act to people who might not ordinarily see it. Being involved in the society is a win situation for everyone -- players and fans alike. Join today!!
